Is it June already?!?! Nope - just a recap of 'Tourist Day' for Gibbon 2024 Homecoming week. There were some FANTASTIC outfits!






It has been a GREAT week of dressing up! Make sure to continue with Thursday's 'Sports Injury' theme! (Elementary students are dressing as 'Sports Day).


Gibbon Junior High Football was victorious in their match-up with Minden on Tuesday with a final score of 23-14.






Come to the library to choose your "This or That" and check out a great book!


When you have the best student aide, you get awesome signage in the library! Students, come to the library to find your next great read!

Mrs. Godfrey met with the safety patrol members to review expectations for after-school duties in the parking lot. She emphasized the importance of staying alert and helping younger students cross safely. Thanks safety patrol for your service!

Finger tracking while reading helps boost comprehension and focus for young readers. They’re not only keeping their place but also strengthening their brain’s connection to the words they’re reading.

Did you know that incorporating movement into reading can boost phonemic awareness and phonics skills in young readers? By engaging their whole bodies, kids can better grasp the sounds of language, making it easier for them to decode words and become confident readers!



Pajama day was so much fun! There were lots of smiles as we kicked off the 2024 homecoming week! We can't wait for tomorrow.







Homecoming week continues on TUESDAY with 'Flip-Flop Day' - students dress like teachers and teachers dress like students!


Gibbon Buffaloes- we are EXCITED to start the homecoming week traditions and celebrations! Remember that Monday, September 9, is PAJAMA DAY!


Friday, Second grade dressed up for a culminating activity for our Fairy Tales and Tall Tales Unit! We had princesses, Pecos Bill, John Henry, the Wolf and Three Little Pigs, Babe the Blue Ox and Paul Bunyan...to name a few. We also ate flapjacks like Paul Bunyan. Lots of fun!
