Gibbon Nation,
The City of Gibbon has recently received community concerns about the operation of e-scooters, e-bikes, and motorized bikes, and we wanted to ask for your help in getting an important safety message to our students. As these devices have become more common, we want to make sure riders and their families understand how to operate them safely and respectfully, so that Gibbon's streets, sidewalks, parks, and public spaces stay safe for everyone.
We encourage students to remember the following safety practices:
Wear a helmet and other appropriate safety gear.
Watch for vehicles, pedestrians, and other hazards.
Obey all traffic laws, signs, and signals.
Yield to pedestrians on sidewalks and at crosswalks.
Keep e-scooters, e-bikes, and motorized bikes out of City parks, including Davis Park and Rosen Park, as well as athletic fields, trails, playgrounds, and other park facilities.
We have attached the graphic the City recently shared on the city's social media, which summarizes these reminders.
Please exercise safe practices and please comply with the city's requests. Thank You
#GIBBONPRIDE
