Football

Gibbon Nation,

We are looking forward to our first home football game of the season when we host Cross-County this Friday, September 5th. In preparation for this year's home football games, the school district is initiating a few new protocols focused on protecting the safety and well-being of all students, parents, and guests.

These protocols are intended to ensure all students, parents, and guests can watch football games in a pleasant and safe environment. They include;

Dogs will not be allowed in the football complex. This protocol was created for the following two reasons; 1) Dogs have a tendency of leaving gifts on the ground that people find unpleasant stepping in, and 2) Dogs are not everyone's best friend.

Students must remain to the west of the pole vault runways when playing on the practice field. This protocol exists for the following reason. We want students to have a good time when attending the football game and this is often accomplished by playing on the practice field. However, we also have students, parents, and guests waiting in line at the concessions stand and they shouldn't have to worry about being ran into or being hit by a football. Having this protocol ensures our students have a safe place to play and addresses the safety and well-being of anyone waiting in the concession line.

Our primary concern is that everyone has an environment where the feel safe and can enjoy watching the football game. We believe these protocols help to enhance such and environment.

We look forward to seeing you at the football game.  Go Buffs!
