FBLA SLC

The Nebraska FBLA State Leadership Conference was held April 3-5, 2023 at the Kearney Younes North and South Conference Centers. The Gibbon FBLA High School and Middle Level Chapters will be sending five members to the National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Georgia from June 26-July 1, 2023. The following awards were presented at the awards ceremony on April 4 & 5: Chapter Awards – Gold Seal of Merit Award (15% of Nebraska chapters earn this award) & the Sweepstakes Award. The Ribbon Projects awarded were as follows: StepUp2Tech, Connect to Business, Feed Nebraska, iGive, Spark the Legacy, NSBEA/NBEA Adviser Membership, Nebraska FBLA Foundation, Go Green Project and March of Dimes Contribution Awards. The individual National Award Winners were Hernan Vargas for completing the Business Achievement Award-CONTRIBUTOR and Darian Dorsey for completing the Business Achievement Award-EXPLORER. Mrs. Stroh was honored with a certificate for being a FBLA adviser for 15 years while teaching in Kansas and Nebraska. The top competitive individual and team event winners for the Gibbon Chapter are as follows: (2nd) ML-Career Research, Piper Gonzalez; (2nd) ML-Exploring Computer Science, Darian Dorsey; (2nd) ML-Career Exploration, Briana Brehm; (5th) Database Design & Applications, Ana Montanez; (3rd) ML-Multimedia/Web Design, Korbyn Smallcomb & Collin Bruggemann; (4th) ML-Financial Literacy, Darian Dorsey; (4th) ML-Leadership, Piper Gonzalez; (4th) ML-Elevator Speech, Sofia Palazzola; (5th) ML-Career Research, Sofia Palazzola; (6th) Website Design, Jose Lopez, Paola Murillo & Odalis Ramirez; (6th) Data Analytics, Eduardo Simental; (7th) Public Service Announcement, Jose Lopez & Hernan Vargas; (7th) Future Business Leader, Hernan Vargas; (7th) ML-Digital Citizenship, Darian Dorsey; (7th) ML-Career Exploration, Abbie Miller; (7th) ML-Business Ethics, Sofia Palazzola; (8th) Community Service Project, Eduardo Simental; (Honorable Mention) ML-Career Exploration, Kaleigh Pracht. Along with state officer campaigns, seminars, keynote speakers and FBLA Olympics, Gibbon FBLA did a fantastic job at state conference this year and took 10 high school and 10 middle level members to the state conference. The high school sponsor is Deb Stroh and the middle level sponsor is Josh Miller. We also would like to thank Hamilton Telecommunications for being our Community Sponsor at this year’s state conference and Ryan Samuelson who is a Gibbon alum and serves on the Nebraska FBLA Advisory Council.
