For the second year, Gibbon has participated in the Nebraska Theatre Academy through Omaha Performing Arts. This has brought so many unique and memorable experiences to our students as well as many opportunities for students. Clear back in October the NTA brought a traveling dance workshop to our school and a large number of students from the music and theatre departments. Two theatre experts were also able to attend the opening night performance of our production. These guests were able to spend some time with our students following the production. The students were so engaged and involved in the conversation and were given valuable feedback not only for this show, but future shows and theatre in general. On April 8th, 15 students as well as Mrs. Gellerman and Mrs. Stroh were able to attend a workshop with IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees) to learn more about "backstage" careers in theatre, film, etc. Some students from the digital media and production classes were able to learn more about careers that cross over between the two industries. Students also were able to tour the Orpheum Theatre as well as the Holland Center for Performing Arts while in Omaha. Finally, after sending in an audition video at the end of March, Brooklyn Slone was invited to attend "Call backs", or the second round of auditions, for the National Jimmy Award Finalists. This was a great audition opportunity for her and a great recognition of her talent!

Keagan Pickel, Amelia Gearhart, and Brooklyn Slone represent Gibbon at the NHSTA Awards Showcase as part of the Showcase Ensemble. Samantha Weeder was recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Set Design.
